THE BISHOPTON TRIATHLON

SUNDAY 22nd August 2027 | North East Wake Park, Bishopton

---------------------

After a successful 2026 event we are looking forward to welcoming you to 2027. Start your triathlon journey with us at Bishopton Lake, home of the North East Wake Park. This venue offers a great opportunity for beginners to test their grit as the lake is shallow allowing for participants to stand across the majority of the lake swim course.

As we found in 2026, the shallow nature of the lake means the water temperature will climb quickly meaning you don't have to brave the brrr and you can relax and enjoy at your own pace. Our cycle route features three climb segments on parts of the British Cycle Series course as well as being used for TT events and the British Championships so you can check your strava segments post race to see how you did. These are nothing to be afraid of and easily doable for beginners. Finally, finish it all off with a trail lapped run course all on site creating a much better spectator friendly event giving you athletes the encouragment to get to that finish arch.

Swim

Swim in the shallow and clear open water man-made lake within Bishopton North East Wake Park. The water depth is no more than 5ft, giving entrants the option to stand if needed. This venue is also well sheltered from winds, meaning the water is flat and beginner friendly.

Cycle

The bike portion of this race has triathletes take on a fast open road course around the local villages. Very few turns and flowing fast roads will make for good times and you can push the watts on the short climbs featured across the course.

Run

A trail run of gravel paths and grass trails around the lake creates a spectator friendly lapped route to keep you going when you need it most. Very picturesque with views across the lake and surrounding farm land.

To participate in this event, you are required to become a member of British Triathlon and hold a race licence. You must either become a Core or Ultimate annual member here https://www.britishtriathlon.org/join or purchase a single use Race Pass for your race when purchasing your event ticket.
